SonyLIV’s latest fictional offering, The Whistleblower, delves into a secret world of an educational scam. Packed with strong performances, the series features talented actors Ravi Kishan, Ritwik Bhowmik and Sonali Kulkarni in leading roles. Produced by StudioNEXT, The Whistleblower is all set to leave viewers gripped.

The show traces the journey of Dr. Sanket played by Ritwik, a final year medical student who gets himself entangled in a chain of events that trigger chaos within a system. The repercussions of Sanket’s actions take a toll on his personal life and his world starts to crumble.

Directed by Manoj Pillai, created and written by Ajay Monga, the series also features actors Ankita Sharma, Ashish Verma, Hemant Kher, Joy Sengupta, Riddhi Khakar, Sachin Khedekar and Zakir Hussain among others in prominent roles. India Forums got in touch with Ankita Sharma and spoke to her about the project.

When asked about challenges she faced while playing the character, Ankita said, “She is someone very right in everything she does. In the OTT space wherein, we get to see a lot of layered characters with different kinds of personality, I think someone who’s totally white as a character is in itself a challenge because people are used to seeing flawed characters, so I had to put in a lot of conviction to play my character. I also play a character of a doctor, so of course it doesn’t come naturally to me. It was a bit challenging to learn the workings of a doctor. Whatever procedures we’ve shown in certain scenes, I had to learn them properly so that I could play my part convincingly. The terms that Pragya uses and the ability to take charge of situations were also little challenging to portray".

She stated that she does relate to Pragya. Talking about the same, Ankita said, “I could relate to Pragya as there are a few common traits between both us the major one being taking a strong stand for herself. I had a few things to work on but overall, it was a great experience”.

Speaking about the bond with the actors, Ankita said, “We had a young lot of actors as well as veteran actors too. It was a mixed experience. I feel I had a great time working with the senior actors because their experience really shows in their craft. I mean, they don’t carry a lot of stress that we as young actors do. It was a lot of learning for me and certainly a fun ride”.
