I got a reality check with my first audition! - Vibhav Roy

"My first audition was for the commercial ad with Kajol. I was very new to Mumbai back then and did not know exactly how the television industry works. I went for an audition in full black suit with my Louis Vuitton shoes. I got it and was extremely happy that I will be seen with Kajol in the ad. I reached Mehboob studio after two weeks on the set and I learned that I was an extra. It was such a letdown for me. Before starting for the shoot, I had given party to all my friends and families on bagging the ad and then knowing the truth, I was shattered. I actually got a reality check at the Mehboob studio."

"It was really tough for me to get roles in daily soaps. I never wanted to do TV and I was high headed that I only wanted to do films in my life. But after struggling for one whole year, I could not make up to films. I was struggling and was studying for GMAT alongside and had to go back to Australia for my MBA. But fortunately, Ravi Ojha Productions and Life OK picked me up for Gustakh Dil and Spell Bound picked me up for Doli Armaanon Ki. Since then, I am happy."

How did Gustakh Dil happen? "I had actually auditioned for Star Plus six-eight months before Gustakh Dil started casting. Nilam was the casting director in Star Plus and somehow my audition came across her and she said you go and audition for Gustakh Dil. I audition for Ravi Ojha, did a mock shoot and was on. Thankfully I got my break in television."
