It's always been a big challenge for the young actresses to play a Mother on-screen if their show takes a leap. The same happened with the young and pretty actress Pooja Singh who is currently playing a Mother on Shashi Sumeet Mittal's popular show Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus.
When the show was about to take a leap of 5-6 years, Pooja felt it a bit challenging to play a Mother to a 7-8 years old girl but now she is playing it perfectly on-screen and bonded quite well with Dhrishika, her on-screen daughter.
In a candid conversation with TellyBuzz, Pooja shares, "Initially, when the show was taking a leap, I was a bit nervous because people used to tell me that I look so young and seeing me wearing a saree, my friends and even people on sets used to call me Balika Vadhu. So, I used to think that whether I will be able to look like a Mother post leap or not but when I met my on-screen daughter Dhrishika, I felt very much connected to her. Our comfort level was so good that she made me feel that I am a Mother. She also addresses me as Mumma. We share a very good bonding since the first day. There is one thing that is common between both of us is that we have long hairs. She has been casted perfectly. She is a very sweet and a talented girl. She sits along with me and we play UNO. She shares everything with me and is closest to me on the sets."
When we asked Pooja whether she faced any challenges while essaying a Mother on-screen, she said, "My story on the show, started off with pregnancy. So, I used to feel little awkward playing a pregnant lady on-screen and because of that I used to feel little uncomfortable too but later on, I managed it. "
We wonder if Pooja took some tips from her Mom. She said, "My Mom has pampered me a lot and I know how she does everything for me. So, keeping her in mind, I just follow how she used to pamper me as a kid while I am doing a scene and automatically the scenes come out good. I am really enjoying with Dhrishika and I am feeling very good to play a Mother on-screen. Although I look young but I am very comfortable playing a Mom on-screen. I am enjoying more after the leap."
Keep up the good work Pooja!
