"I don't really get along with the television scenario"- Avtar Gill

The show, 'Ek Duje Ke Vaaste' starring Nikita Dutta and Namik Paul has been garnering a lot of appreciation since its launch which was a month ago.

With the show progressing towards a new track, it has now introduced the entry of a new character, Khosla which is portrayed by none other than the veteran actor, Avtar Gill.

The veteran actor has been off the television space for a long time and makes his comeback with this show..

We contacted Avtar, who said, "My character is an out-and-out Punjabi character named Khosla. He comes into this Tiwari family out of nowehere telling that they owe him over 50 lakhs and it has been pending over a long period of time. So, he will be adapting different methods to get his money back."

He adds, "It is a character with a lot of grey shades, but not a negative character. He is powerful, cunning and has the typical Punjabi traits."

On being asked about why hasn't he been doing television for such a long time, he tells, "I don't really get along with the television scenario. They ask for too many conditions and too much time. And it becomes extremely difficult to cope up with all of them. This is my comeback to satellite television after 11 years."

So, what prompted him to take up this TV show, he said, "They (the makers of the show) are wonderful people. I met them and we discussed a lot of stuff. They had no conditions which were unreasonable and there was a great vibe from the whole thing. Plus, the role is amazing and I loved it instantly."
