The cute little 'Anjali' from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has grown up to be the hot and fiery Sana Saeed today, where she shocked one and all with her glamorous avatar in the film, 'Student of the Year.'
Now after participating in three reality shows and having done one fiction show in the past, Sana spills the beans over her 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' journey, on Arjun Kapoor and other plans..
Who was your biggest khatra (competition) on the show?
I think everyone was good, honestly. Actually, when you are
doing a dance show like Nach Baliye', one can say I am a better dancer or I am
better than him/her which can be undeniably true. But on a show like Khatron Ke
Khiladi (KKK), you just cannot say that, as everyone is doing it for the first
time. We are coming from the entertainment industry and doing stunts that none
of us have earlier done, so how can we measure who is better and who
is not! Initially we thought that, Vivan Bhatena and Siddharth Shukla are so
muscular and strong, Yuvraj is a hockey player and Faisal Khan must be having a
great advantage on flexibility because of being a dancer. But later we realized that this is altogether a different game. Its about being mentally strong. Also, you might feel someone is mentally stronger than you and hence, has an advantage over you, but you never know when he/she gives up. But at the same time, you will not if
you choose not to.
How do you cherish this experience on the show?
It's one of the best experiences of my life. All of us love
to be adventurous, but to be actually able to do it is a feeling that cannot be
matched. When I came home, I literally told my mother, that you know, what you
haven't done in all these years, I have done in these 45 days. It
is a self-exploring journey and teaches you so much about yourself. When a
stunt is explained, you just don't know what exactly are you going to do, you
cannot plan anything. The only thing you can tell yourself is I am going to do
my best and come out. That's what matters the most!
An altogether different flavour is brought in by Arjun
Kapoor, how was he as a host?
The best part is that he is so young and hence, the vibe is amazing.
Our camaraderie with him has rarely been that of a strict basis. He would have fun
with you, joke with you and do everything. I think it was great for a show like
KKK to break the ice and get someone like Arjun to host it. Because, it is such
an intense show and you are already scared to death, pertaining some stunts and
that's when you need a consolation and a cheerful mind to go and do the stunts.
And not only him, Raghav Juyal is such an amazing person to have on set. He is
a doll. One thing, I would love to say about Raghav is that, where we all have
a competitive side and want to outdo the other, I have seen this boy just go
ahead and play his game, free-spirited and relaxed. He doesn't make you realize
that this is a competition and makes you feel loosing is fine. And I learnt one
thing from him, that when you don't care about anything, you perform your best.
He is amazing.
The show had a string of actors hosting, from Akshay Kumar
to Priyanka Chopra and a director like Rohit Shetty. While Arjun, as you said
is a person you feel is best suited. How do you think he makes the difference?
Maybe that is a different high. I wouldn't know it as I haven't
experienced participating under them. For a person like me, I need a
lightweight. For me to not be intimidated by, 'Oh my God, what is he/she
gonna say if I don't do well and what will be the consequence of it' is what
matters. For me its more like, 'Ok bro, chill and do it, you are going to ace it'. Arjun would not make you feel bad if you couldn't do it, at the same
time, not make you feel great and overconfident, if you do it.
You came back into the limelight with a role in Student of the
Year' after your stint as a child actor in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.' And post that you
have done two reality shows now. Is it a conscious decision to do reality shows
and not be a part of fiction shows?
As a person, I enjoy films more. I don't even have a
TV at home. I have moved out right now and I do watch TV with my mother at
times, but otherwise, I am not at all a TV person. But when its Khatron..' I
will surely be watching (laughs). So my friends are like, achha now you want a TV etc etc.
So you know, subconsciously, because I am not into TV, I probably don't get attracted to fiction TV shows. Plus, I don't run into things for the sake of it and can say No. If my gut feeling says No, I will pass it and won't do it. However, in future, only if something excites me and I am willing to do, I will do it.
We can't wait to see the actress face and overcome her fears on the show!
