I didn’t even think for a second, and immediately chose the show: Namish Taneja of 'Maitree'

Zee TV, over the past three decades, has presented its viewers with stories on subjects close to their hearts and introduced them to characters that have become an integral part of their daily lives! Having narrated several such tales that have resonated beautifully with audiences across India, Zee TV is now joining hands with Sunshine Productions after more than a decade to present viewers with an exciting new show – ‘Maitree’. 

Set against the backdrop of Prayagraj, the show focuses on the exciting yet dramatic journey of Maitree and her soul sister, Nandini.  The two best friends have been inseparable since their childhood, so much so that their mothers also question them as to what will they do when either of them gets married? While they are sure that nothing can break their friendship and that they will remain the best of friends even after marriage, it seems that life has its own plan for them, making everyone wonder - ulajh ke do ungliyan, chali jo barso saath… kya hua ki choote hath? Kya hua ki hue khilaaf ?  

While popular actress Shrenu Parikh will be seen playing the titular role of ‘Maitree’, talented actor, Namish Taneja, will be seen playing the character of Ashish (Nandini’s husband). The popular star has done several shows in the past but will be seen for the first time on Zee TV with Maitree, where he plays the role of a successful lawyer who doesn’t just look at his profession as a means to his income but truly wants to help people. In fact, he is a man of principles and helps the needy whenever he can. He is a family man, who is loving and caring as a person, and will never compromise his values and ethics for anyone. Being Nandini’s husband, he is also close to her best friend Maitree. Wonder what plans destiny has in store for this trio’s friendship when life takes an unexpected turn!    

Talking about his character, Namish Taneja mentions, “I am returning to television after almost a year now as a lead, but this time in a completely different avatar.  I am very excited to play the role of Ashish, he is a man of principles who is a successful lawyer by profession and treats it as a way to help the needy. When I heard about the character, I didn’t even think for a second, and immediately chose to take it up as I relate to Ashish a lot.  Just like him, even I am a family man who values relationships in his life and can never compromise when it comes to moral values. I am very excited to see the audience’s reaction and I just hope I can do justice to my character as well as the story.”  

With these two childhood best friends drifting apart under the most unusual circumstances, it will be intriguing to find out the real reason behind why Maitree and Nandini have turned against one another!
