'I did Roohaniyat because of Rishi Kapoor sir', says Shaan Groverr

‘Noblemen’ actor Shaan Groverr is playing the character of a teenage lover boy in MX Player’s upcoming web series ‘Rooaniyat’. Starring Arjun Bijlani and Kanika Mann in the lead roles, the first season of the web series has already been released. Audience are getting to see the different shades of love in the series. High on emotions, any person who is in love is relating with ‘Roohaniyat’. 

Shaan’s character ‘Rishi’ belongs to a Pune well to do Maharashtrian family. Stays with his family of parents, grandparents and younger brother. Rishi like many boys of his age is dating for fun. He is someone who has always been indecisive of his ambitions, wants and needs. He is a third year student of Computer Engineering.

Shaan has always been a die-heart fan of Rishi Kapoor and that’s also one of the reasons he said yes to the project. He said,

“Last year in June, I had gotten a call from the casting Director Asad Sheikh about this role. Earlier, someone else was doing this character but directors and the team were not sure about him. So when they asked me to make an audition and explained me the character brief of Rishi, I was like I have to do get this role anyhow. The first reason is I have always been a fan of Rishi Kapoor and always wanted to portray a character whose name is Rishi. So when I was being asked for this character, I was like Shaan this is it. The next thing I know is that the directors and Mx Player’s team loved my audition.”

Shaan also added, 

“So I was in a headspace where I was hoping to play a more chilled out, romantic character and it was as if God was keeping a close eye on my manifestations. The title of the show ‘Roohaniyat’ in itself was so romantic (laughs). The entire team at Endemol, Mx Player, my directors and Co-actors were all so generous and giving that I had no doubts about this show whatsoever.”
