"I did not get inspired by just one stand-up comedian" - Dheeraj on his role in 'Sherdil Shergill'

Dheeraj Dhoopar recently spoke in an interview about his journey in the industry from being just a good looking actor to a very good actor. His latest show Sherdil Shergill has launched and it is a great opportunity for everyone to see him in a new avatar. 

The actor plays a stand up comedian in the show which is something very different and fresh from what he has been doing. But not many may know that this actor is truly not just a good looker, the actor has worked very hard to understand and get into his character in the show. To get into his role as a stand up, he has watched videos of not just one but of many stand up comedians over the years that India has produced. There was a conscious effort to not watch just one performer perform and that was because he wanted to inculcate traits of various personalities in his character in the show. 

According to sources close to him Dheeraj is a perfectionist. Not just in his sense of style but also in his approach towards acting, his general approach towards his work. Adding to this Dheeraj says that "I did not want to get inspired by just one Stand up comedian but imbibed traits from various people who have been entertaining us for so long. This includes yester years stand up comedians too. I consciously did this because I wanted people to see me doing it in my own style. My efforts in building characters in various shows has brought me to where I am today and I wanted to keep the same intensity going"
