Post the astounding success of the first season, MTV is all set to bring back the oomph factor with their bold and fearless fashion reality show, MTV Supermodel of the Year S2. The first season of the show was won by Manila Pradhan. The second season will be an audacious statement for aspiring fashionistas to embrace their individuality and be unapologetically themselves. Heating up the season will be the esteemed panel of judges- Malaika Arora, Milind Soman and Anusha Dandekar.

With #UnapologeticallyYou as the theme, the show will stir conversations around stereotypes and question preconceived notions around an individual and their choices. In this volatile world of social media, each individual at some point of their life, is subjected to judgements and irrelevant opinions. But the show will be a statement on how, despite the criticism, one should lead a life of one’s choice and be unapologetic about what they wear or what they do.

India Forums got in touch with Anusha Dandekar who will be seen judging the show this time around. Since the show is about breaking the judgements and stereotypes and be unapologetic, we asked the gorgeous Anusha about her ways of dealing with judgements and trolls on social media. She quipped, “Well, I’ve been subjected to many judgements. Some I’m aware of while a few I don’t even know about. I think by now I have learned to take it with a pinch of salt and ignore them at times. I’ve come to believe that only truth can hurt you and when there’re silly things being written about me, I laugh it off and just ignore. At times, it takes me a day or so to get over with it. I handle these things in two ways. If it’s trolling, I deal with in by following ‘Kill them with Kindness’ rule as I feel people who spread so much of hatred and negativity needs extra love and kindness because of which they’re so hateful and hurtful. Or the second way is to just not get involved. I tend to just avoid such remarks”.

We asked Anusha if emotional baggage affect her performance on camera or on ramp, she said, “I’m an extremely emotional person. As far as work is concerned, I like to keep my personal life and professional life separate. When I’m in front of the camera or on the ramp, I give my 100% to it as that’s my work. I have learned to have this on and off button, I know we aren’t robots but yes that’s what I try to do. After the work is done, I get back to my feelings”.

Talking about Supermodel of the Year 2, Anusha stated, “I believe there’s a different kind of energy this season. I can’t explain the feeling. I’ve goosebumps, I get so teary-eyed, I was so inspired, I was just blown away by the stories of the girls. It just made me look at the future of India, my beautiful country is filled with so many inspiring women and stories. It’s so exciting. I can’t wait for all the girls to watch the show. Also, the boys. To all the boys, if you know a girl who’s got that charm in her, please tell her and motivate her because you never know how much that push would mean to that person”.
