Hurricane Sandy: A mammoth disaster

Telly celebs talk about year 2012 and send their message to the victims of Hurricane Sandy...

Hurricane Sandy is the most powerful storm to have affected any country. The storm that swept across the East Coast of USA has certainly rewritten record books and left behind a tableau of damage, destruction and grief.

The movie 2012, had depicted how the world began and will end from USA. The Hurricane Sandy gives somewhat that feel. We got in touch with a few of the telly celebrities  to ask them about what they think if 2012 is a devastating year and the message the would want to convey to the people in USA who are suffering due to the current situation.

Aishwarya Sakhuja: Yes we have taken Mother Nature for granted but I don't think the year 2012 is going to be a devastating year. Incidents like Sandy and tsunami struck Japan and they are constant reminders to the human race to mend their ways and be more environment friendly.  U.S.A is one country who knows how to fight back. No one and nothing can deter their spirit. I feel immense sadness at their loss. May God bless them all who are suffering there.

JD Majethia: I don't think that it's an end of the world. My heart goes out to the people of there. However, they have faced many such crisis situations in the past and will emerge out of this situation with new ways to fight storms which will become learning lessons for other underdeveloped countries too !

Debina Bonnerjee Choudhary: Hope is the beginning of success . We all hope we will live for many years. So I don't even want to think anything devastating. Hang on people , there is light after every darkness. Thou shalt live .

Hiten Tejwani: No, I don't think the world ends and begins from U.S.A. Nevertheless I do agree that the year has been bad, but one can never predict natural calamities or disasters. Its really sad that it happened, but my message for the people in the U.S.A is that just be together and help each other and this too shall surpass..Be safe.

Gaurav Khanna: All i can say is these are tough times and my heartest warm feelings go out to each and everyone who is affected by the hurricane in the USA. I pray for things to return back to normal. We should not loose hope in tough times, bad times will pass and good times shall prevail eventually.

Nakuul Mehta: I think 2012 and the whole Mayan theory about the world coming to an end makes for a great fiction story. I do not believe in this whole theory and the media publicising it and glorifying it to make a story. Yes, there have been natural disasters but so has the case been, almost every year. US and nyc is one of my favourite places in the world and I really hope that the Sandy passes by with minimal damage. The city has been quick to spring back to its feet post 9/11 and hope same will be the case post Sandy.
