Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's 'Fighter' faces the 'Monday blues'; Day 5 collection takes a dip

As the dust settles after Fighter's first crucial Monday at the box office, the Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer finds itself facing a challenging road ahead. After an initial lukewarm start followed by a promising extended weekend, the Siddharth Anand directorial encountered its first significant test on Monday, minting approximately Rs 8 crore, according to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk.

Industry insiders had high expectations for Fighter, anticipating double-digit figures post the big 4-day weekend, which included the Republic Day holiday. However, with collections falling below the Rs 10 crore mark, the film appears to be gearing up for a tough journey in the coming days.

After a five-day run, Fighter's domestic collection stands at Rs 126.50 crore, while the global box office has reached around the Rs 220 crore mark. Despite its respectable numbers, Fighter lags behind Siddharth Anand's previous blockbuster, Pathaan, which earned a whopping Rs 524 crore in Hindi. 

Fighter's stark Monday sums to Rs 8 crores.  Starring an ensemble cast including Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi, Fighter, positioned as the first major Bollywood release of the year, faces an open field until the release of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's romantic comedy, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, scheduled for February 9.

As Fighter's box office trajectory unfolds, fans and industry analysts keenly observe whether the film can overcome the Monday blues and regain momentum in the days to come, or if it faces a formidable challenge in meeting the heightened expectations set by its star-studded cast and creative team.
