Honestly, I was prepared for ‘Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali’ going off- air: Kushagre Dua aka Sunny

Star Plus show ‘Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali’ has always been under the scanner. However, the show managed to survive for months but now, the show is set to bid adieu to the viewers. The producer of the show Sandiip Sikcand took to social media recently and announced that the show is slated to go off-air soon. While initially that last con-air date was announced to be 20th November, there’s a buzz that the show has gotten an extension as the makers wanted proper closure to the show.

India Forums got in touch with actor Kushagre Dua who plays the character of Sunny in the show and asked him about his thoughts on the show going off-air. He said, “Honestly, I was quite prepared for the show going off-air. With the show shifting to 5:30pm slot, I got an intuition about the same but was waiting for an official confirmation. So, it wasn’t really shocking for me but, yes, it has been disheartening for a show like ‘Mehndi Hai Rachne Waali’ with so much potential to go off-air within nine months. I feel it should atleast have been worked well for a year and half. Having said that, I respect the decision taken by the higher authorities”.

He added, “I’ve been close to my co-actors Sayli Salunkhe and Shweta Vyas. We promised to stay in touch as we headed to Mumbai from Kolhapur. I made a point to take feedbacks from my Director Rohit about my craft and how I can polish the same. He did share some valuable inputs with me. The journey has been amazing. I played a character which was out an out negative. It was fun and fans also liked my performance in the show. I’m thankful for the opportunity”.
