Hema Malini's attempt at Swachch Bharat makes her a subject for hilarious memes

The BJP government's Swach Bharat Abhiyaan was launched a while back where in all the citizens of our country were urged to keep their surroundings clean and fulfill their duties. At the launch of the abhiyaan too, we saw many MPs and actors from the Bollywood fraternity joining the campaign and lending a hand in cleaning.

Today also a video surfaced the internet where senior actress and Mathura’s MP, Hema Malini joined the campaign with Minister of State for Finance, Anurag Thakur. While Mr. Thakur as seen cleaning the roads for real, Hema Malini's act of cleaning seemed pretentious to almost everyone.

She obviously became the target of the relentless trolling of the citizens. The way she held the broom, the part of road she chose to clean (it was clean before), all became memes and that too very hilarious.

Even after this clean up drive, Hema gave a statement to the media and said, “It is highly appreciable that the Speaker of the House took the initiative to carry out 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, in Parliament premises. I will go back to Mathura next week and carry out this Abhiyan there as well.”
