Sakshi Tanwar, one of the most popular bahus on Indian Television turns 46 today, the actress has been reigning the hearts of audience with her charm and amazing acting skills. She rose to fame with the iconic saas bahu drama Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and went to add new feathers to her cap.

It's her birthday today and so, we have compiled some lesser known facts about her life, take a look :

1. Her father was a CBI Officer

Sakshi grew up in a middle class family in Alwar, Rajasthan. Her father Rajendra Singh Tanwar was a retired CBI officer.

2. She worked in a five-star hotel

Before making it to the industry, Sakshi worked as a sales trainee at a five-star hotel.

3. She made her TV debut with Doordarshan's Albela Sur Mela

Many of you must have thought that Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki was Sakshi's debut show but she made her television debut with Doordarshan's Albela Sur Mela, it was a film songs based program which she auditioned for and was selected as a presenter.

4. Apart from acting, she also turned narrator

She turned narrator for the show Main Naa Bhoolungi. Also, she hosted many shows like Crime Patrol, Tyohaar Ki Thaali and Code Red.

5. Bollywood debut with Dangal

She made her big Bollywood debut with Dangal opposite Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, she played mother of two daughters, Geeta and Babita who struggled to become a wrestler and garnered praises for her portrayal of an affectionate mother.

6. Her secret marriage

Few years back, rumours were doing the rounds that the actress secretly tied the knot with a business tycoon. However, Sakshi cleared off the air and denied the rumours which makes her happily single.

7. She is a single mother

Last year, the actress adopted a nine months old baby girl named Ditya. And we are very proud of her.

8. She also tried her hands in Direction

She worked as a creative director for Sammaan Ek Adhikaar, produced under the banner Positive Thinkerz.

9. She has no full time maid; Loves cooking

According to a report, she does not employ a full-time maid as she loves cooking. She also hosted a show, titled Tyohaar Ki Thaali on Epic Channel where she cooked variety of dishes.
