Happy Birthday Ranveer Singh!

July 6th marks the 29th birthday of Bollywood's very own powerhouse, Ranveer Singh!

July 6th marks the 29th birthday of Bollywood's very own powerhouse, Ranveer Singh!

The young lad was born in the city of dreams, Mumbai, to Jagjit Singh Bhavnani and Anju Bhavnani in 1985. The actor chose to drop his last name Bhavnani before he entered showbiz, claiming that Ranveer Singh Bhavnani was simply too long.

Ranveer always aspired to become an actor, but gave up on his dream early after realizing the chances of getting a break were slim. Singh first completed his education at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics (Mumbai) and then went to Indiana University (Bloomington), where he acquired a Bachelors of Arts. After finishing his education, Singh worked as a copywriter for a few years until he realized that he wanted to pursue his life-long dream of becoming an actor.

In 2010, Ranveer Singh bagged the lead role in Maneesh Sharma's Band Baaja Baraat opposite Anushka Sharma. Singh nearly grabbed all the best male debut awards that year for his praiseworthy performance in the movie. After Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011), Singh had a notable year in 2013. Lootera and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela added feathers to Ranveer's cap as critics fell short of words to describe Singh's remarkable performance on-screen.

Earlier this year, the energetic actor was seen in the super-hit Gunday, alongside Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. He has one more release scheduled for 2014 - Kill Dil opposite Parineeti Chopra, Ali Zafar and Govinda. He also has a special appearance in Finding Fanny featuring Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor. Currently, Singh is filming for Zoya Akhtar's Dil Dhadakne Do, co-starring Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma.

When one thinks of Ranveer Singh, his exceptional dancing skills always come to mind! To celebrate this joyous occasion, here is a list of Singh's chartbusters from his releases thus far:

  1. "Ainvayi Ainvayi" - Band Baaja Baraat
  2. "Dum Dum" - Band Baaja Baraat
