Gurmeet Choudhary's journey on television!

This is the story of a heartthrob of many, Gurmeet Choudhary. From Chandigarh to Mumbai and from Mr. Jabalpur to one of television's most wanted actors. Let's take a look at Gurmeet's journey over the years.

Gurmeet was born in Chandigarh and was originally named Shashi Kapoor by his grandfather! Gurmeet wanted to be an actor ever since he was a little child.

As years passed, Gurmeet slowly turned towards modelling. He even contested in and won the title of Mr. Jabalpur. This win helped him get permission from his father to come to Mumbai.

Initially Gurmeet had to struggle a lot. There were times when he didn't even have enough money for a decent lunch. Things took a turn when Gurmeet got a negative role in the south Indian serial Mayavii.

Gurmeet got his big break when he bagged the role of Ram in Ramayan. He instantly became popular amongst the audience and his fandom knew no bounds. He even won the best new talent award for the role.

Gurmeet later bagged the lead role on the show Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi and his pairing with Drashti Dhami is still loved. Gurmeet also contested in the reality show, Pati Patni Aur Woh alongside his wife Debina Bonnerjee Choudhary in which the couple won the first prize.

Gurmeet also contested in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 - Dancing with the stars. Under the guidance of his Choreo-partner Shampa, he took the Jhalak trophy home too!

Gurmeet also participated in Shriman Vs Shrimati,Nach Baliye Season 6 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khilidi Season 5.

Gurmeet then got a big screen opportunity and bagged the lead role in the film Khamoshiyan. He was also a part of the film, Mr.X .

Gurmeet was last seen in the reality show I Can Do That. He is currently working on an upcoming film called Lali Ke Shaadi Mein Ladoo Dewana.
