Location sharing is not as fun as it seems, says actress Gulfam Khan Hussain. She adds that giving out details on social media can become a serious cause for danger.

“This is sheer invitation to trouble. I remember my dear friend was harassed by a jealous, stalker, ex girlfriend because she knew exactly where he was at what time. I have no authority to advise. I can just request people to refrain from doing these things,” she says.

She adds, “So I never share my location, unless I cannot help it. I might put a story like on my way to Goa or something but mostly the story upload is after I have reached the destination. All my travel videos too are posted afterwards... You won't see me outdoors on live video.”

She adds, “You want people to know you are in their city is fine as long as you don't give your live location details. Even when I'm travelling with friends and we have to share live locations amongst ourselves (to know how far we are from each other) it's always time restricted by me.”

She suggests her fans to be equally careful as well. “I would suggest 'be discreet' while sharing pics too. If at all, share pics after you have left the place because even if you don’t mention the details the background might give away your location, if and if the temptation is too much just edit or blur the background,” she says.
