Earlier Mitil who was also a part of Saraswatichandra on Star Plus in a cameo role which ended soon. Here, in conversation with TellyBuzz he speaks his heart out.
You are back once again in Junoon?
Yes, I am back once again but this time there's a new twist in the show. I still am playing negative but I will be polite and sweet to Prithvi and Meera so they won't understand my evil deeds.
What made you take up the role once again?
The fact that this time I will have many emotions to portray than the earlier one made me take up this role.
Your cameo in Saraswatichandra and now your act in Junoon, in both you are the antagonist, but how different is one from the other?
In Saraswatichandra, I was a fearless police officer which was a small but meaty role to play, while in Junoon as Lakhan I am more of a UPite. I play a very blunt man who is an out and out antagonist but who will change in the coming days.
What kind of roles would you want to do now?
I would not like to play side roles now, and its high time I take up lead roles. I am putting in a lot of hard work into it. For me even movies is on the list but I feel somehow there has to be a Godfather in the industry.
Do you feel that having a push is necessary to get lead roles?
Yes definitely. There has to be a support system and then you get roles easily, but hard work and patience is very important.
Are looks the criteria to get lead roles?
Yes, every lead on screen is also a good looking actor. I don't know from where the trend came in but one has to have good looks to be a lead.

I have worked with Gautam Rode, when in Saraswatichandra. I had very few scenes with him and I realised that he is not only good looking actor with a great physique but he acts very well, so does Karan Singh Grover who is seen in Qubool Hai on Zee TV. Karan is spontaneous actor and also my co-actor Aditiya Redij who too is a very good looking actor.
Had you not been an actor what would you be?
My dad has a business of clothing, and I would have taken up his business but I was inclined towards acting.
Did you struggle to get into acting?
Yes, I have struggled a lot. My parents were not convinced of me getting into acting, but with my struggle and hard work I convinced them. There are people who give auditions by roaming in cars and say they have struggled a lot, but I still don't own a car. My struggle period is still on!
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
I would like to see myself doing well in television as well as movies.
