Girls face stereotyping everyday: Amrita Prakash

Amrita Prakash will be seen paving her way into the culinary world in an upcoming episode of TV show "Halla Bol 2". The actress says that with the episode, she wants to highlight gender stereotypes prevailing in the society.

Amrita Prakash will be seen paving her way into the culinary world in an upcoming episode of TV show "Halla Bol 2". The actress says that with the episode, she wants to highlight gender stereotypes prevailing in the society.

Amrita will be seen as a headstrong girl, who is a chef and is fighting to break stereotypical thinking of people who believe that women cannot become chefs.

"Stereotyping is something that a girl faces everyday. In the episode, I'm not just playing a strong character but representing girls who go through this," the actress said in a statement.

Talking about one of her experiences, she said: "I was planning to go on a road trip with my friends and when I said that I will drive, some of my male friends shrugged me off and said that 'Girls can't drive.'

"Such incidents take place in our day to day life but we choose to ignore it most of the times and that's when we actually do wrong."

The episode will beam on Bindass channel on March 1.

lol...south is not waiting for her...n there r many heroines lik genlia, sameera reddy , they r doing films in all industries n they r success also...noe south has mor talented actress ...bollywood didnt even accept yu fully ...but anyway good luck for ur futur pr0jects

Hellooo...Knock Knock on your head Miss you really need a reality check...south industry is the one that gave you this career so please knock it off...its a sad truth but south industry actresses shelf life is very less( not that I approve this) But glad that you respect the south and think high of it...other than that good luck with the future projects...

It's time Ms.Asin comes out of the ghajini bubble...no body is waiting for her in south (as if people are not making movies b'coz of her!) acting in a movie along with 4 other actress does't make you a heroine of the movie...enjoy Bollywood...we are happy with the heroines we have!!!!

oh..ya.. right...
This is the story of sour grapes...
She has hardly got 2 movies in bollywood and both have many female leads...
There are many talented heroines now in south industry ( like anushka, samantha, trisha, nithya menon and many more) and i guess both the producers and the audience are satisfied with the actresses we got now...
And we do not long for asin's re-entry like we longed for jyothika's or simran's re-entry!!!
