Getting Positive and Divine is Shalini Kapoor

After getting applauded for her negative character in Sahara’s Solhah Singaarr, Shalini Kapoor is now the face of Durga in Sagar Art’s Jai Maa Durga. Sagar Arts’ eight year long search to find the right actress for Maa Durga ended as soon as Shalini walked in for the audition. While Shalini seems to be on cloud nine with a role like such, she also believes that it was pure destiny that got her the role. The Telly Buzz team talks to the luck struck lady about her experience so far.

“On the audition day, about a hundred girls were called, and all present there auditioned without the ‘Mukut’ as it was not ready. The moment I walked in, which was about late in the evening, the ‘Mukut’ arrived and I was the lucky one to wear it and give the screen test. I believe that it was sheer destiny that I am doing the role today…” says Shalini.

It surely looks quite ironic that Shalini landed in as a Goddess on the small screen, after playing a negative role. “No one earlier believed that with the innocent face I had, I could play a negative character; but it went so well, and I was quite popular for that, and here too, I cannot believe that I could play such a strong and powerful role, but I guess as an actor it’s important for one to be highly versatile, and it surely seems that I’ve done that…” , opines Shalini as she signs off.
