Getting into the skin of a negative character is a tough task: Shraddha Jaiswal aka Anjali of Molkki

Colors TV show ‘Molkki’ is getting the love from the audience. The current track of the show revolves around Mukhi aka Virendra’s life being in danger. The show is produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and has a stellar star cast including actors like Amar Upadhyay, Priyal Mahajan, Supriya Shukla, Shraddha Jaiswal, Rishika Nag, Mohit Hiranandani among others.

Shraddha plays the negative character of Anjali in the show. India Forums got in touch with her and asked her about her thoughts on playing a negative character. She quipped, “I believe, it’s a tedious task to play a negative role as we generally don’t have such characters in real life to take an inspiration from. Even negative people in real life often doesn’t showcase their evilness so you can’t really take them into consideration. We’re all always surrounded with positive people and hence it becomes easy to portray a positive character. I often wonder and discuss with other actors as well about what would be on Anjali’s mind that she’s negative. It’s very difficult to get into the skin of the negative character. I have done comedy in shows like 'Belan Wali Bahu' and 'Ek Duje Ke Vaaste' and with experience I can say comedy is still easy as you know the psyche of the character which is not the case with the negative characters”.

Speaking about the fans’ feedback and hatred, Shraddha said, “Whenever an actor who plays the negative character receive hatred, it means that the actor is doing a convincing job. So, I don’t let it bother me and take it in the positive stride”.
