'Gangubai Zindabad'; Alia Bhatt all set to rule the big screens: Gangubai Kathiawadi trailer out

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's most awaited Gangubai Kathiawadi trailer is finally out today. The film stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role as Gangubai, and the trailer gives a brief insight into what will be Gangubai's rise to power on the streets of Bombay. 

Mr. Bhansali has given his best shot at tracing back in time and bringing out the fascinating story of Gangubai and her journey from a simple girl of Bombay's Kamathipura to fighting elections for a kind cause.

Alia Bhatt has not only left a feisty impression from the trailer but also made it so convincing that it might be her best performance yet, yes, even better than Raazi. The dialogues in the trailer will definitely leave a mark on the audience. Besides Alia Bhatt in the leading role and Ajay Devgn in an extended cameo, Gangubai Kathiawadi also stars Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, and Jim Sarbh in pivotal supporting roles.

Alia took to her social media handle to unveil the trailer. She took to her Instagram handle and shared the trailer along with the caption, "Gangubai Zindabad" with a crescent moon and a heart emoji.

Based on S. Hussain Zaidi's book “Mafia Queens of Mumbai”, Sanjay Leela Bhansali seems to have taken Gangubai Kathiawadi to the next level with his vision and the grand scale of the film.

The movie has been delayed multiple times due to the coronavirus pandemic that hit India in March 2020. The film was earlier scheduled to arrive in cinema halls on September 11, 2020. In January 2021, the makers announced that the movie will be released sometime in 2021 but the release was delayed again.

Produced by SLB's Bhansali Productions and Jayantilal Gada's Pen India Limited, Gangubai Kathiawadi will release in theatres on 25th February 2022.
