Gagan Malik enters Sangam..

Star Plus’ Sangam will take an eight year leap soon, and few new characters will be introduced in the show!!

But before the leap happens, the show will see a replacement as Akshat Gupta who played the role of Rahul Mehra will not be part of the show anymore.

“The actor has bagged the lead role in Ajai Sinha’s upcoming project on NDTV Imagine, so did not wish to be part of the leap in Sangam, where he had to play father to a 7-8 year old kid”, explains our source.

And replacing him is Gagan Malik who was earlier seen in Kumkum and Zee’s Saath Saath.

We talked to the Creative Head, Abivanjana, who confirmed this news and said, “Yes, Akshat’s role will now be played by Gagan Malik. Akshat did not want to be part of the leap”.

According to our source, Gagan has started shoot and will enter 3-4 episodes prior to the leap. The story post leap will show Rahul and Saagar (Chaitanya Chaudhury) as bitter enemies who cannot stand each other”.

We tried calling Gagan, but the actor was unavailable for comments..
