Disha Patani made her debut in 2016 with M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, and has gone onto prove her mettle in 2018 action film Baaghi 2 opposite Tiger Shroff.

However, things haven't come easy for the beauty, as she has managed to make her mark with no hand of a godfather in the industry.

A simple girl from Bareilly landed up in Bollywood and rules millions of hearts today! Disha credits destiny for all of this and talks about her journery in the recent round of interviews of her upcoming film, Malang.

Disha began by sharing that she is a very shy person and reveals that she never wanted to be an actress as she was studying B.Tech in college. However, she started modelling at the age of 18 and had stopped taking any kind of financial help from her family by then. So it became important for her to work, and she started auditioning for films. She realised she loved being in front of the camera, and the rest remains history.

"I never wanted to be an actress. I was too shy to even click my own pictures, but I somehow landed in Bollywood and here I am" Disha shared.

But I started modelling at 18 and there were responsibilities on my shoulders. I stopped taking money from my family. I was constantly auditioning. I had to take care of myself, the days when I should have had fun, that never happened because I was constantly auditioning" she added.

"I realised I loved acting, being in front of the camera more than walking the ramp. Sometimes I feel I don't belong here, but I'm getting work and I'm doing what I like, I'm very fortunate" she further exclaimed.

Disha concluded by saying: "I believe in destiny, there was no way that a girl from Bareilly, who was doing B Tech, came to Mumbai and is doing what she wants to, it's for sure destiny."

Well, that's quite lovely! And, we cannot wait to see more of the actress on the big screen.

Speaking of Malang, the action thriller drama also features Aditya Roy Kapur, Anil Kapoor and Kunal Khemmu in lead roles. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film hits the theaters on 7 February 2020.
