Book adaptations for films never seem to get old. Of course, has that not been the case, we would have obviously not had iconic franchises like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings ever. So, as long as, a particular adaptation is treated well while being made into a film, we certainly don't mind it.
On that note, Jojo Moyes' bestselling book is being adapted into a film called The Last Letter From Your Lover. And the stakes are certainly high as two phenomenal actresses have been roped in to play the leading roles in the form of Felicity Jones and Shailene Woodley.
According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, the project is set to commence principal photography on Oct 14 and will be produced by Blueprint Pictures.
The story follows Ellie (Jones), a young female journalist in contemporary London who uncovers a series of love letters in the archives which tell the story of an intensely romantic but star-crossed affair in the 1960s between Jennifer Stirling (Woodley) and Anthony O’Hare (Turner). As Ellie is drawn into the story, she becomes obsessed with discovering the lovers’ identities and finding out how their love story ends. Moyes' book has sold three million copies and been translated into 33 languages.
Pete Czernin and Graham Broadbent of Blueprint Pictures are producing alongside Simone Urdl and Jennifer Weiss of The Film Farm. Jones and Woodley are both executive producing.
