Emotional needs and wants are two different things; somewhere, fulfillment is missing because everyone is busy chasing success. Many opine that these days, professional success is a mandate for being and feeling happy. Farnaz Shetty, who was a part of shows such as Ek Veer Ki Ardaas: Veera, Suryaputra Karn, Waaris and Swaraj, speaks on the same.
“Professionally achieving success requires a significant amount of time, dedication, honesty, and hard work, for sure. So, success is a noteworthy pinnacle. Just like climbing a mountain, it demands considerable effort to reach. And once you arrive, there's a sigh of relief that you've finally made it. You know, you've put so much effort into it. It's like that, but it's never the end. It's endless. It continues to grow and expand. However, if a person has a clear vision and works diligently towards their goal, they should undoubtedly obtain the fruits of their labour. As I mentioned in my previous comment, happiness is highly subjective. Often, various goals and achievements bring happiness to different people. Sometimes, it's the little things that bring joy to others,” she says.
For Farnaz, little things matter the most. “While there are significant achievements I aim for in life—like pursuing my passion as an actor, a dream shared by many—for me, it's akin to a job, a test of sorts, just like my school days of constant studying, not aiming for the top position, but striving to be an excellent student. I used to rank first in my school; that was a byproduct of my hard work,” she adds.
Similarly, as the actor invests effort in her current pursuits, she strives to give her best. “If something comes my way as a result, I'll embrace it as a moment of happiness. However, I won't let go of the small moments that bring me joy, thereby disrupting my daily life. That's the kind of life I intend to lead. And yes, it entirely depends on each individual how they perceive the occurrences in their life,” she says.
