R Ashwin and his wife Prithi Narayanan did an interview recently with Sky Sports Podcast. We know that he had a good relationship with former Indian captain Virat Kohli who has often acknowledged his greatness on the pitch. The recent interview has gone viral where R Ashwin was talking about the difference in Virat Kohli and him. He said he was always perceived to be this ‘serious’ person on field. R Ashwin admitted that when he is with the ball, his attention is nowhere else. He said he is not someone who waves at family sitting in the hospitality box. Prithi Narayanan his wife had asked R Ashwin to blow kisses at her but he said he is too focused to indulge in PDA.

R Ashwin had said, “My answer to that, in the first place, is I’m never a serious person. But when somebody is clobbering me and I have the ball in my hand to win a Test match for my country, my mind is ticking, because I’m in the process. So, very often, you don’t see me picking up a five-wicket haul and pushing across a kiss through the blade of my bat to my better half sitting in the dressing room or in the hospitality box. I felt like a lot of who I am got diluted in the fact of what I’ve become.” True cricket fans know that Virat Kohli has always appreciated R Ashwin and both are good friends.
