Everything you need to know about the 9th season of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'

Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 9 is all set to go on air on August 28 and with the launch of the show yesterday, a lot of new things were announced about the same.

For starters, this year, the show will have a Friday special episode, where every week, the viewers will be shown glimpses of the seventeen years of KBC - titled as satara saal bemisaal.

Next, there have been two new additions to the show - one in the form of a lifeline; jodidaar, where participants can bring along with them a partner to join him/her on the hot seat. The second new addition includes a jackpot question of Rs. 7 crore, the deal for which will be all or nothing. The lifelines are all terminated hereafter.

A change in the already existing lifeline includes phone a friend, which has now changed to video a friend. 

Talking about the same, the programming head of Sony TV, Ashish Golwalkar, also said how they had to make huge arrangements on the same because of the technology constraints. Also, the iconic huge cheques will be now replaced with digital currency to be transferred directly into the winner's account.

In addition to all of the above, this time around, the show will air for a total of 6 weeks with 30 to 35 episodes. As said by Ashish, this has been done in order to maintain a graph for the show.

Doing away with the concept of calling Bollywood celebrities on the show, this time around, the show will honour real life heroes.
