Emraan Hashmi: It is Psychologically Disturbing; Recalls the Tough Time when his Son Battled Cancer at Four

Emraan Hashmi and Rishi Kapoor will be seen collaborating for the first time on screen in Jeethu Joseph's The Body. The thriller murder mystery also stars Sobhita Dhulipala in a lead role. The star cast is currently on a promotional spree, and recently Emraan made an appearance at Amitabh Bachchan hosted reality game show - Kaun Banega Crorepati 11.

Emraan shot for a Karamveer Special episode of KBC 11, along with Founder and CEO of Cuddles Foundation, Purnota Dutta Bahl, who works for the goodwill of poor kids suffering from cancer. 

The Chehre actor stated that he has been following Purnota's work for many years as his son was diagnosed with cancer five years ago, and later his mother too became a victim of the disease. 

“A family is emotionally devastated when somebody from that family is diagnosed with cancer," said Emraan.

Emraan Hashmi's son Ayaan was diagnosed with a rare case of kidney cancer in 2014 when he was just 4 years old. Recalling the tough times, the actor revealed that the process was disturbing for the entire family. He also spoke about his research and the importance of nutrition for good health.

My son Ayaan's remission phase - during which cancer might make a comeback - was a tough phase for us as we parents go through a lot of fear psychosis. The whole process is psychologically disturbing. While researching the disease, I got to know that nutrition plays an important role in the treatment as the body needs a strong immune system while going through the treatment. Even after the medical treatment, we have to focus on follow-up care, which involves proper nutrition and the well-being of a person, which has been the focal point of Cuddle foundation.

Back in January, Emraan had announced the good news that his son Ayaan had been declared cancer-free after five long years.
