Nathan Nate Kane Mathers, Eminem's half-brother, has expressed mixed emotions following the death of their mother, Debbie Nelson. Nelson, who passed away at the age of 69 after a long battle with lung cancer, had a complex and often tumultuous relationship with her famous son.

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, has not publicly commented on his mother's passing. The rapper's relationship with Nelson was famously strained, as depicted in his 2002 hit song "Cleanin' Out My Closet."

Despite the challenges in their relationship, Nelson expressed hope for reconciliation in a 2008 interview, she acknowledged the past hurts but emphasized the importance of moving forward.

Although it’s unknown what their relationship was like at the time of her death, the rapper previously expressed his desire to mend things through his 2013 song titled Headlights. “I went in headfirst, never thinking about who what I said hurt / My mom probably got it the worst,” say the lyrics of the song.

While the exact nature of their relationship at the time of her death remains unclear, it's evident that Nelson's passing has had a significant impact on those close to her.
