Television fans were in for a treat as producer Ektaa Kapoor shared a special reel featuring the two iconic faces behind Komolika — Urvashi Dholakia and Hina Khan. Known for her strong social media game, Ekta brought both actresses together in a light-hearted, dramatic reel that quickly went viral.
The reel, posted on Ektaa Kapoor’s Instagram, opened with her saying, “Ek nahi, do Komolika!” before cutting to Urvashi and Hina entering together, set to the unforgettable Komolika theme music. Ektaa captioned the reel, “Ek reeel ke price mein do do! Directed by (badly), @4umehra.” The video sparked immediate reactions online, with fans and celebrities alike chiming in with nostalgia and amusement.
Shalini Passi reacted with a “Hehehe,” while Urvashi herself dropped heart emojis. One fan wrote, “@urvashidholakia nostalgiaaaa!” while another cheekily commented, “Naagin 7 toh pata nahi kab aaega, KZK 3 le aao, nayi Komolika dekhne ko milegi.”

Hina Khan later took on the same role in the reboot Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, though she initially had doubts about stepping into such a well-established character.
In an earlier interview with SCREEN, Hina revealed, “Playing Komolika was not a conscious choice. Ektaa Kapoor was the one who pumped me up and pushed me to do it. I was not at all confident to play an antagonist, that too Komolika. The iconic Urvashi Dholakia killed it, so in my head, it was just impossible to play the character any better.”
She continued, “I thought I would fail with the character… I didn’t want people to unnecessarily hate me for the role. But Ekta was very confident; she said, ‘You are my Komolika,’ and she could not have thought of anybody else playing the character.”
This rare on-screen moment between two generations of Komolika brought a wave of nostalgia and excitement, reminding fans of how deeply these characters remain etched in television history.
