Eisha Singh on receiving backlash for Bekaboo: ''I was not ready in my head to do a fantasy show''

Eisha Singh, last seen in Colors TV's fantasy fiction 'Bekaboo', got in an exclusive conversation with India Forums and commented on whether relationship rumours ever and again affect her. The actress also spoke about the negative backlash she received for her character in the show and if she will take up another fantasy fiction in the future. 

There have been a lot of rumours about you dating your costars. Does it affect you? 

No, it does not affect me. When you are working with someone, these kinds of rumours are not new. Every actor goes through it because people tend to have this misconception that just because actors have good chemistry onscreen, they are dating. But no, that is not the case. It does not affect me; it is a compliment to me. ( Giggles)

After these rumours come in, how does your family react to the same? Are you ever questioned?

No, touchwood, I come from a very good family, and they have never questioned me. They know my friends and people I am close to, so they do not ask me; they are pretty chill that way. They know that I am working with someone, the chemistry is good, and we are excellent friends. You know the saying 'Ek ladka aur ladki kabhi dost nahi ho sakte?' It is very much prevalent even today. So people think the actors might be dating, and some people like the onscreen chemistry so much that they feel that the onscreen pair should date in real life. But no, that is not the case. So, My family is also very cool in this case. 

Bekaboo was an altogether different genre that you attempted, and as you said, you have also received negative reviews for the show. How did you tackle those, and will you ever take up a fantasy show ahead?

I am somebody who likes to experiment and who wants to explore new genres. I would love to do another fantasy genre; now that I have been a part of one, I can deal with it better. Also, I have received some negative feedback because I feel I was not ready in my head to do fantasy. Something somewhere I was not doing right, and that is why I have received negative feedback, but I am very proud of myself for dealing with it all firmly. Later on, all this negative feedback vanished, and people accepted me with open arms so that I would thank my fans for that. 

One character that has stayed with you and will always be?

All my characters have stayed with me, but I will still pick Zara for sure.
