ED summons Rakul Preet Singh in connection with a Tollywood drug case

According to reports from Hyderabad and Telugu news sites, Rakul Preet Singh has yet again been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate, which is looking into an alleged money laundering case involving a Tollywood drug issue. On September 3, 2021, the investigating agency earlier questioned the actress. Since the last four years, the ED has been looking into this drug trafficking and use issue, and several Telugu stars have been questioned in connection with it.

An ED official had previously addressed TOI about the case, saying, "The Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department booked roughly 12 cases, and 11 charge sheets were filled. Around eight people were charged at the time, primarily drug traffickers. The majority of them are amateur drug dealers. As witnesses, we have summoned excise officers. Likewise, Tollywood celebs will be regarded as witnesses up until we have proof."

Well for the unversed, this drugs care reportedly hit headlines in July 2017, when customs officials seized drugs worth Rs 30 lakh from musician Calvin Mascarenhas and two others. Tollywood celebrities Ravi Teja, Charmee Kaur, Navdeep, Mumaith Khan, Tanish, Nandu, Tarun and Baahubali fame Rana Daggubati were previously summoned by the ED.
