Drashti Dhami on her role in 'Duranga 2': "I am glad that I performed all my stunts on my own"

Drashti Dhami, Gulshan Devaiah, and Amit Sadh are back with season 2 of 'Duranga'. The ZEE5 original series releasedrecently, and fans are loving every bit of it – from Amit Sadh’s complex character and Gulshan’s desperation to prove himself innocent to Drashti’s dilemma about her husband’s past and the overall twists and turns.

The second season is bigger, bolder, more complex and much more thrilling than S1. What is even more exciting is a chance for Drashti’s fans to see her in a completely new avatar – that of a police officer, doing her own stunts. Dhami has complex shades to portray in Duranga 2 - a loving wife, a worried mother, a formidable cop and a human being with compassion. 

Dhami nails Ira Patel to the T. She also gets to do a lot of intense action sequences and she does so with finesse. Infact, Drashti mentioned during promotions that doing her own action sequence was the most memorable part of Duranga 2 shoot for her. 

She exclains, “I believe in pushing my boundaries as an actor, and this opportunity of playing Ira allowed me to do just that. With regular workouts and my dedication to staying fit, I felt well-prepared to tackle these physically demanding scenes. While we did have a body double on standby initially, I eventually performed all my stunts on my own. I am glad that my fans are loving me in this avatar and I hope I get to do more action focused roles in the future."

In the entertainment industry where many actors opt for body doubles for demanding action sequences, Drashti Dhami's decision to perform her own fight sequence is a testament to her dedication and commitment to her craft.
