Doctors "Guzaarish"!

B-Town is hardly new to controversies and the latest to cause a stir is none other than the much anticipated Guzaarish!

B-Town is hardly new to controversies and the latest to cause a stir is none other than the much anticipated Guzaarish!

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest flick seems to have annoyed a few doctors who have reacted quite strongly to the promotional footage of Bollywood's beloved Aishwariya holding a *drumrolls please* cigarette!

Whilst not the first leading lady to puff away on screen (Bebo in Chameli, Piggy Chops in Fashion), the actress has come under much scrutiny from the medical community as they believe that Ash, being an impressionable celebrity, will influence the younger generation with her cigarette smoking ways.

On-screen smoking was banned in 2005 by Dr Anbhumani Ramadoss (Union Minister of Health), though the act was later revoked in 2009.  However, with many health care professionals protesting the blatant publicization of smoking by the posters as well as badgering Ash with demands to stop the particular scene from being part of the promotions, we wonder if the ban will come back in to consideration?

For now Doctors for You, a non-profit organization, plans to show their displeasure by sporting black badges on the release day (November 19, for those of you not turned off by Ash lighting up).
Here's hoping that this little roadblock doesn't make the chances of success for this movie go up in smoke!
