Mithun Chakraborty fondly known as Mithun Da, our very own 'Disco Dancer'.

16th June 1950 the day Indian Cinema's dancer was born. He made his acting debut in Mrigayaa for which he won the National Film Award for Best Actor!

The real name of Mithun Da is Gouranga Chakraborty, educated from Scottish Church College in Kolkata and graduated from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. There are speculations that he was naxal before entering into Bollywood.

The fan following of Mithun Da drastically increased after the movie Disco Dancer! Well who doesn't know about Disco Dancer! The songs like Jimmy Jimmy Aja and I'm a Disco Dancer were all over, radio and television set at that time!

The versatile actor did films in many languages including Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Telugu and Bhojpuri.

He won Filmfare Best Supporting actor for Agneepath and Filmfare Best Villain Award for movie Jallad.
