Did You Know Makers Of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Made Several Changes in Jethalal’s Character To Picture It On TV?

Sab TV’s most popular and longest running comedy family drama, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is best known for the quirky and funny characters of the show residing in Gokuldham Society. The shows revolves around the residents of the society and how they put themselves in weird situations. 

One such character is Jethalal Champaklal Gada who is a doting son to his bapuji, a smart businessman and loves to relish fafda jalebi. Jethalal is one of the most popular characters in the show played by actor Dilip Joshi. For those who do not know TMKOC is based on the column Duniya Ne Undha Chashma written by columnist and journalist/playwright Taarak Mehta for the Gujarati weekly magazine Chitralekha.

Jethalal’s character has been portrayed quite differently in the Gujarati magazine than the one that we see in the show. Speaking of how Jethalal has been portrayed in the magazine, his character is quite fit than how he can be seen on the show. Not only this but in the magazine he is depicted as someone with a short temper and is addicted to alcohol.

Since, the makers of TMKOC wanted it to be a family show they brought certain changes to the character and now we can see Jethalal as one of the most interesting character of the Gokuldham society. We love him as Sethji and Tapu Ke Papa, Isn’t it?
