Did Mamta Kulkarni pay Rs 10 crore to be Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhada? Actress responds

Mamta Kulkarni has come as a guest on Aap Ki Adalat days after being Mamta Nand Giri, a sanyasi. The actress has been living the spiritual life since 20 years. Some days back, she was made Mahamandaleshwar at the Mahakumbh 2025, an event hugely documented by the media. The Kinnar Akhada got a lot of backlash from other Hindu organizations. Then, Rishi Ajay Das the founder of the Akhada said that the title of Mahamandaleshwar will be taken off Laxmi Narayan Tripathi. He said that she was given the title to uplift the transgender community but her move to bring Mamta Kulkarni was against the values of the Akhada. Both Mamta and she are now expelled from the religious body.

Rajat Sharma, the host of Aap Ki Adalat, asked Mamta Kulkarni if she paid Rs two crore to Kinnar Akhada to become a Mahamandaleshwar. The lady said she does not have that kind of money. She said she had to borrow Rs two lakh to give her Guru Dakshina. It seems Mamta Kulkarni’s bank accounts are now frozen. When she was at Mahakumbh, she did Tarpan for her parents. The actress was out of the country when they passed away.

The actress also got candid on the bold Stardust shoot that had a negative impact on her career. She said she did not find the concept obscene. Mamta Kulkarni spoke about how she had earlier said she was just a ninth standard schoolgirl and did not know anything about sex. She said she was a virgin and did not understand the concept of nudity and sexual desire. The actress reiterated that she has been living the life of a celibate since 23 years, and denied even watching pornography.

The actress recited verses when the host asked her about her knowledge of the Vedas and prayers. Mamta Kulkarni called herself a devotee of Maa Kali, and said Baba Bageshwar was too young a Guru to make judgements on her.
