Did Chakravartin Ashok Samrat rip off Game Of Thrones?!?

Prince Dastan is definitely an original character!

Chakravartin Ashok Samrat is currently one of the most viewed shows on Indian TV. It is a prime time show that airs at 9 PM. This show is also considered as one of the best shot show as the direction and other elements are beautiful. But after the last two episodes, our perception about this show has changed! Do the makers of this show really think that the Indian audience has no clue about International shows? The show has a new character called Prince Dastan played by Rumi Khan. There may have been a Prince Dastan but here is what is wrong with the on-screen Dastan!

Firstly the name Prince Dastan. Doesn't it seem familiar? Heard of the Prince of Persia games? Prince Dastan was the lead character in the game series which also has a movie adaptation. This is just a thought as it may have been possible because the Khorasan empire actually existed at a point of time and it actually ruled Persia!

Talking about the look of the onscreen Dastan, here is how he looks. Looks quite the deal doesn't he? A tough warrior, a mercenary, a killer.

And we are sure that he has no resemblance to Khal Drogo from the international series Game of Thrones. They don't even look the same! The hair, the costumes and even the stance have no resemblance to the Game of Thrones. Even the scenes of bot the shows have absolutely no resemblance! Have a look!

Atharva Lobo you've hit the bull's eye once again. This so called Prince Dastaan is actually a xerox copy of Khal Drogo of GOT.

It doesn't stop here. These CV's are hell bent on copying foreign shows/movies. This includes GOT, harry potter, Lord of the rings (chanakya and his staff = gandalf), narnia (the lion CGM), the dark knight (agradoot), prince of persia (Dastaan) and many more.

There's absolutely not even an iota of history in whatever foolish crap that they r showing.

I loved Prince of Persia, Jake Gyllenhal rocked in it. I wish they would stick to Ashoka's story and make it more authentic. Not show Ashoka as a crying do gooder and a victim of his "Bratha" the way they are doing now. Also, parallel tracks are good to have, but don't rewrite history like this and go off the actual story. I think the creatives of this show take way too many liberties with their story. They have a responsibility. Especially when creating a show based on Ashoka the Great! I have to admit I have lost interest in the show to some extent because of drag factor and unauthentic story!
But Sidharth and Sumedh rock! So does the other cast, especially Manoj Joshi as Chanakya!

In case you haven't noticed this isn't the first time CAS has introduced bizarre tracks. It's an awesome show and the actors are really good. I wish the Cvs would stop concentrating so much on the nonsense and side characters and give more importance to Ashoka.

This really is terrible news. What is the need to be 'heavily inspired' by GOT and bring it into Ashoka. Ashoka's life is more than interesting and he was not always a nice person, some things I have read - he gives Khal Drogo a run for his money and was actually real! Instead of milking ratings and extending the show indefinitely use the amazing cast well and the resources to make a shorter well plotted out serial. Yes there will be some fantasy to fill out the parts history left blank but this is just wrong. Hope GOT does not get them into a copyright problem.

This Production inserted so many imaginary & nonsense tracks in Maharana Pratap too (including Elder pratap's casting too) .. So i never gave a try to Ashoka. Because at the end they will bring in boring Leads post leap & will make imaginary tracks to get ratings

I thought the same just days ago! The whole get up is like from GOT!
I used to watch this show with great curiosity and excitement. When it started, it started off so well. I was so hooked! But sorry to say, the last episodes have been so boring that I am starting to lose interest, its not the same anymore. The only saving grace there are some powerful performances by Siddharth and Sumedh. To be honest, these two are the only ones who I look forward to now. The show is not the same anymore. I thought it would be nice to see Ashoka the Great on TV, but sadly its Indian TV I guess Sigh!
But Siddharth Nigam is Gold!

These retards (read Contiloe) thinks they have a free license to re create history as per their choice and convenience! Dastaan is a Urdu name a language that did not even exist 2300 years ago, and they have reduced the mighty Asoka into a complete and utter idiot! WithMahrana Pratap and Akbar they have the done the unspeakable, chullu bhar paani mein doob maro Contiloe for destroying our history in such a gory manner!
