Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut are undoubtedly the superwomen of Bollywood. Both the superstars have achieved a big name in Indian cinema and being on the topmost position Deepika and Kangana have some big and interesting projects on their work front.
However, according to recent reports, Deepika might bag Anurag Basu's Imali which was earlier offered to Kangana. The director recently revealed that Kangana has opted out of the project due to date issues and now he is keen to have Deepika on board for the film.
"We were supposed to start in November but we couldn't because she got busy with Manikarnika and Panga. Even I got busy with my other film. She wanted to be in good space and time to do this film but things did not work out," DNA quoted Basu as saying.
When asked about Deepika replacing Kangana for the role the director said "I cannot confirm until she (Deepika) confirms anything. I did meet her. She has to confirm it to me and then we can confirm it to others."
Meanwhile, Deepika has been busy shooting for Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak which also stars Vikrant Massey. The film is based on the real-life story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
