“Deepa Shahi is a mother figure for all of us, she puts the Maa in Anupamaa”: Rupali Ganguly

Actress Rupali Ganguly who plays the title role of Anupamaa, produced by the mother-son duo — Deepa and Rajan Shahi —, recently spoke highly about Deepa Shahi. During the Wonder Women Awards recently held in Mumbai, Deepa Shahi received the Super Achievers award for producing Anupamaa. 

Speaking on that, renowned actress Rupali Ganguly says, " I owe whatever I am today to Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi. I must mention that Deepa Shahi is a huge inspiration for all of us. At the age of 78, she started as a producer and is successfully producing India’s number-one show — Anupamaa. Deepa Shahi is a mother figure for all of us; she puts the Maa in Anupamaa. She feels like a unanimous mother for the whole crew.

She added," From a housewife to the co-producer of India’s top blockbuster show Anupamaa, it is quite a journey. She is like that Banyan tree that is responsible for all the other plants growth under her guidance and blessings. Of course, Rajan Sir remains the captain of the ship but Deepa Shahi is the main driving force.”
