Daler Mehndi becomes an ally of Lotus; joins Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

In this season of elections, another celeb has decided to join politics. After Urmila Matondkar and Sunny Deol, now, Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi has decided to join politics. On Friday, the singer has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Union minister Vijay Goel and Hans Raj Hans.

The joining happened in the Delhi amidst the presence of  BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir and Chandni Chowk candidate Harsh Vardhan.

For the ones who don't know, Daler Mehndi's daughter is married to the son of Hans Raj Hans.

With this step, BJP continues to add more star power to the party as Lok Sabha elections are entering the fourth phase.

Meanwhile, Sunny Deol joined BJP in the presence of Nirmal Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal and other several Union ministers. Hans Raj Hans was also named the party's candidate from the North-West Delhi constituency on the same day.

On the other hand, Urmila Matondkar joined Congress and will be fielding from Mumbai North.
