Yo Yo Honey Singh who is slowly making a comeback with his groovy tracks has landed in trouble yet again. The popular Punjabi rapper's lyrics of a song titled 'Makhna' have courted controversy for lewd lyrics.
According to an IANS report, the Punjab State Women Commission chairperson Manisha Gulati said she has written to the Director General of Police to register a criminal case against the rapper for using lyrics like “Mein Hoon womanizer (I am a womanizer)”.
Honey Singh who came back to the music scene after a sabbatical last year has been working on some new music. In fact in Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra's upcoming flick Jabariya Jodi, the film will see one of Honey Singh's first composition, Khadke Glassy, being recreated.
However, his lyrics in the song Makhna are now under the scanner. As per the report, Gulati has accused the singer for using vulgar words against women. “A legal action and an inquiry is required to be initiated by the police on the matter as the song readied by T-series chairman Bhushan Kumar and singers Honey Singh and Neha Kakkar uses vulgar words against women,” Gulati said.
She also added that the song was viral on social media and that its video was also objectionable. The women's commission has also demanded a ban on the song as it is "indecent and has a degrading influence on society". Back in 2013, Honey Singh had faced similar trouble for the lyrics of his song “Main hoon balatkari (I am a rapist)”.
