actor Himanshu Soni was the unfortunate one to have experienced it as his wife, Sheetal Soni wasn't just diagnosed with coronavirus but also was in a critical state. The continuously rising cases of coronavirus in India especially has been nothing but scary to say the least. With numbers rising every passing day, one can only wonder and pray that none of them reach their loved ones. And it is truly said that one cannot always understand and fathom this traumatic experience until one experiences it himself/herself or a closed loved one does. Which obviously no one would wish for. However, actor Himanshu Soni was the unfortunate one to have experienced it as his wife, Sheetal Soni wasn't just diagnosed with coronavirus but also was in a critical state.

In an interview with ETimes, Soni opened up on the entire frightening and saddening experience he had as wife Sheetal would recover from the virus.

He said, "Finally, we are at home. Everything is sorted now, she is out of COVID-19. She had undergone a COVID test 5 days ago, twice and they came out negative. They shifted her to a normal hospital to repair her lungs as COVID-19 attacks your lungs. They removed the oxygen cylinders to see the stability and now see she is perfectly fine. Now, her lungs will repair slowly and she will heal. We have to take care now for 30 days and she can't go out. Since, she has just undergone the COVID treatment for next two months she won't get infected, but she still has to maintain safety. We are in Delhi right now. My wife's office has a huge guest house in Delhi and we are staying here currently because we will have to visit the doctor for sometime. Also, here the location is very good, she has just come out of the hospital, so I want her to be at a peaceful place amidst greenery and this place is apt. We will be here for next 20-25 days as I don't want to take the risk of travelling to Delhi for routine check up and all."

He added, "I  am mentally relaxed now. I took a sigh of relief five days ago, when she got shifted from COVID-19 hospital to a normal hospital. We were worried it should not come back and now we are happy that she is out of it. I think all the prayers from our well-wishers, friends, family and fans were answered by God and she is healthy now. I reached Hrishikesh on July 2 and got her admitted to a hospital in Delhi on July 4. Sheetal's situation was very critical at that time as she couldn't breathe. They started with the treatment. In fact, she celebrated her birthday on July 12 in the hospital itself. All the staff and everyone celebrated it for her so that she is mentally positive and happy. We all wished her."

He mentioned how she had travelled to Rishikesh for work and that' where contracted COVID-19 and as there aren't enough facilities in Rishikesh's hospital, Himanshu decided to shift her to a hospital in Delhi.

On how he cried all night when doctors told him she was critical, he said, "The age I am at it was very difficult to hear from the doctor that she is very critical. Please see what you want to do next. I was not in my senses after hearing that I was unable to think what I should do. But I would like to say, I had started meditating during the lockdown and that helped me a lot. I would say otherwise I wouldn't have been that strong. 'Mujhe lagta tha main kya karoon... kyunki us time mere haanth mein kuch nahi tha... I could only rely on the doctors and they were saying she's very critical we can't say anything. I felt that they lacked infrastructure and they did not have the medicines to save someone. They could only handle patients with mild symptoms and were not prepared to handle the critical situation. I think something major could have happened. I was crying the whole night, but I had to be strong also because I had to make the decision. I think prayers and meditation helped her. I got her admitted on July 4 and she started responding well to the medicines from July 5th."

One horrible experience he specifically shared was how his wife would get scared when other patients in the ICU ward would get scared due to people howling not being able to breathe as he said, "The horrible thing that my wife has shared with me was when she was in ICU people who could not breathe would howl the whole night. They would make scary noises as they couldn't breathe properly. It became a kind of trauma room, because even when patients are on ventilators, they are in their senses. When they can't breathe, they will shout, cry, howl loudly. Doctors ask for medicines, but they are not available at stores, I feel the Government should do something about this. I would have also faced problems but things only became easy for us as my wife's boss helped us."

He concluded saying, "When her reports came negative and she was shifted to normal hospital, I straight away went and started staying with her in her room. I was with her for the last five days in hospital. She was very happy and was relaxed. I also underwent tests and day before the reports came and have tested negative."
