American rapper Pittbul's "We are one (ole ola)" - the official 2014 FIFA World Cup song - has received mixed response from music lovers worldwide and was even compared to previous FIFA songs. But the singer is unperturbed.

"In the initial years for the game there has been some amazing soundtracks. They have all been created in the spirit of the game very much like 'Ole Ola'," Pittbul, whose given name is Armando Christian Prez, told IANS in an email interview.

He performed "We are one (ole ola)" with Lopez and Brazilian pop star Claudia Leitte at the World Cup opening ceremony at Sao Paulo, Brazil and it is being compared to FIFA World Cup songs like Shakira's "Waka waka (this time for Africa)" and Ricky Martin's "The cup of life".

"Comparisons between tracks or artists have never really affected me or my music. I have always created music for the love of music," he said.

He says working on the song was like "bringing the world together through music".

"We did not want to do only music, but different ways to confluence the amazing culture of Brazil with everything that is going around the world and take it to other heights," said the musician, who has grown up watching and playing football.
