Shubham Dipta, who plays the role of Kartik in the Hindi television show Mangal Lakshmi, recently spoke about his interest in singing outside of his acting career. The show, which focuses on family dynamics and everyday relationships, features Dipta as a character with musical talent, a detail that overlaps with his real-life interest in music.

In a recent conversation, Dipta discussed how singing plays a role in his personal routine. “I enjoy singing. It can boost your mood and make you feel relaxed,” he said. According to him, singing also has social benefits and helps him feel more connected with others. “So whenever I get time, I sing. That's how I keep myself active and entertained to perform and give my best. Also, it's a social activity, fostering a sense of belonging and connection.”

Dipta has been teaching himself how to sing by following online resources, specifically the YouTube videos of singer Sonu Nigam. He studies Nigam's vocal exercises and breathing techniques and incorporates them into his daily practice. “I follow his riyaz and breathing techniques by watching his videos on YouTube, adhering to his teachings religiously,” he noted.

Before his role in Mangal Lakshmi, Shubham Dipta was known for his appearance in the television show Do Chutki Sindoor. He began acting through theater at a young age and later shifted to Mumbai to pursue television roles. He also has experience in modeling and cites his on-set collaboration with co-star Deepika Singh as a learning experience. According to Dipta, Singh’s cheerful demeanor positively affects the environment during shoots.

Interestingly, Dipta’s character in Mangal Lakshmi is named Kartik Nigam, a name that coincidentally aligns with his musical inspiration. “So, it can't get any better than having my character named Kartik Nigam. I feel it's all interconnected, and this character was destined for me,” he said.

Mangal Lakshmi currently airs on Colors TV and streams on JioCinema.
