Comedy, the theme this week in K for Kishore..
Contestants go berserk singing Kishoreda's fun songs On K for Kishore with Rupali Ganguli and Rajesh Kumar...
It is a very special episode of K for Kishore. The show, which is a tribute to the legendary singer, goes a step forward to doff its hat to the singer's unique brand of humour.
So the songs in this episode are the fun songs sung by Kishore Kumar brought to life by the contestants complete with costumes and all. The result: a complete mad caper with song, dance and hilarious comedy.
The show takes off with Rupali Ganguly Vs Rajesh Kumar (of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai fame). Rupali, daughter of veteran director Anil Ganguly, recalls an incident from her childhood when Kishore Kumar after having recorded the first song for Saheb, (Anil Ganguly's first film under his own banner), returned the remuneration for the song as a goodwill gesture for the film. "That is contrary to the stories about him being a miser!" pointed out Rupali.
Viewers will also get to see Amit Kumar in a completely crazy avatar as he belts out Babalu
babalu number from Jhumroo. The spirited performance had Sudesh Bhonsle also jump up and shake a leg with him. Inspired by this performance the contestants too had a ball getting under the skin of the Kishore Kumar comic numbers.
Mumbai boy and youngest contestant, Suhas Sawant's Meri pyari Bindu …from Padosan had Rupali lamenting that had someone sung with such passion for her, she would most definitely not have remained single! Chetan Rana lived up to expectations as he sang and danced with Karishma Tanna. Chintan Bakiwala impressed one and all with his performance Cheel cheel chilake… But it was once again Nayan Kumar (Rathod) who stole the show with his rendition of Kishore Kumar's most difficult song in dual voice Oh saanwariya…
It is all about having fun.
Do not miss one of the best episodes of K for Kishore to date on Friday, February 8, 2008 only on Sony Entertainment Television.
