Class: Netflix announces the renewal of the show for a Season 2

Earlier in February a show named ‘Class’ was released on Netflix. Class was touted to be a crime drama thriller series adapted by Ashim Ahluwalia from the Spanish series Elite. The series was produced by Bodhi Tree Multimedia and Future East Film.

After reigning at the number 1 spot in India’s top 10 charts for five weeks straight, and also entering  the global top 10 list, we’re delighted to say that Class has graduated with flying colors. The Class will be back in session for Season 2, coming only on Netflix.

 Season 1 of the series follows the journey of students at Hampton High, an elite school in Delhi and their dynamics when three scholarship students, from the other side of the track join the school. Worlds collide, conflicts brew, secrets deepen and everyone is a suspect for murder!

Now Netflix has issued a statement about the renewal of the series for a 2nd season. 

Their statement reads, “we’ve felt your love for the first season of Class loud and clear! The show received massive fan love and started multiple conversations about differing socio-economic backgrounds, mental health, love and representation and we can’t wait to up the ante and bring back all this and more in Season 2!”

The premise of the first season is about three working-class friends, Dheeraj, Saba, and Balli, are granted scholarships to Hampton International, a prestigious private school in New Delhi, after their neighbourhood school is completely destroyed by fire. The Ahuja Properties, who set the fire, are the ones funding the scholarships. The three are originally shunned by rich students at Hampton International. Nevertheless, as the school year goes on, their lives become intertwined in a conflict of physical intimacy, envy, and their lifestyles.

Well, it would be quite exciting to see their journeys unfold with newer twists, conflicts and drama.
