Chhaava Box Office Day 9: Vicky Kaushal's Historical Drama Soars to 286 Crore, Dominates 2nd Weekend

Laxman Utekar’s historical drama Chhaava, based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, continues to perform well at the box office. The film, starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, has maintained a strong hold in its second week. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film has collected ?286.75 crore in India so far.

On its second Saturday, Chhaava earned ?44 crore, taking its total to ?286.75 crore. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 50.45% on Saturday, with morning shows at 35.55%, afternoon shows at 53.98%, and evening shows peaking at 61.82%. The steady increase in occupancy indicates strong audience interest.

The film had an impressive opening week, collecting ?219.25 crore in seven days. It started with ?31 crore on day one and gained momentum over the first weekend, earning ?37 crore on Saturday and ?48.5 crore on Sunday. In the second week, the film is showing no signs of slowing down. On its second Friday, it collected ?23.5 crore, marking a 9.30% rise from ?21.5 crore on Thursday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged Chhaava in his speech at the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan at Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi. He said, 'Ye Maharashtra aur Mumbai hi hai jisne Marathi filmo ke saath saath, Hindi cinema ko ye unchai di hai. Aur in dino toh, Chhaava ki dhoom machi hui hai.' (Maharashtra and Mumbai have elevated Hindi cinema along with Marathi films. And these days, Chhaava is making waves). Maddock Films, the production house, called this recognition a ‘historic honour’.

Based on Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel Chhava, the film also features Akshaye Khanna, Diana Penty, Divya Dutta, and Ashutosh Rana in key roles. With its remarkable box office journey, all eyes are on how Chhaava will perform in the coming days.
