Chandrakanta fame Shahbaz Khan: Irrfan Khan was miles ahead of many actors all around the world

Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan breathed his last today after a year-long battle with neuroendocrine tumor. The actor had returned to India a few days ago, but his health worsened and he was admitted to the ICU at Kokilaben hospital in Mumbai.

Seasoned actor Shahbaz Khan, who worked with him at the beginning of his career and was the one to convince him to do TV show Chandrakanta is shattered to learn about his friend's death. Shahbaz, says Irrfan’s death is a great loss to the cinema and nobody can take his place.

“The news is heartbreaking. It is a sad day for the entire industry. I am still unable to believe that Irrfan is not with us anymore,” said Shahbaz.

Irrfan earned recognition through the character of Badrinath and Somnath (Twin Brothers) in Chandrakanta.

Shahbaaz said that Irrfan's death is a great loss to the cinema and nobody will be able to fill the void or take his place. The Great Maratha actor says, "He was such a decent, nice and unamusing person. He was a softhearted person. I have never seen Irrfan in a bad or foul mood or shouting at someone. He was totally in control of himself. It is a big loss to the cinema. I am not saying just Bollywood. It is a huge loss to cinema and acting. There won't be an actor like him. The kind of effortless, natural acting he did, I don't think anyone can do it. I don't know how he managed to do it. He was miles ahead of many actors all around the world. He was a simple person. Even after achieving so much and being a brilliant artist, he had no arrogance, nor he had any air. He was a man of few words, with no attitude problem. I did not get a chance to work with him after 93-94, but I always loved his work.  I don't think anyone will be able to fill his place. Death is an irreparable loss. May Allah rest his soul in peace."

Our heartfelt condolences to his family. RIP Irrfan Khan.
